Rebecca was born and raised in Michigan, where she began riding show horses at the age of 4. At age 21, she decided to make the transition from rider to trainer. She came to Kentucky in 1994 with the goals and ambitions to climb the ranks and become a prosperous thoroughbred trainer. What better place to start than learning from some of the masters. Becky has worked for such top trainers and hall of famers as D. Wayne Lukas, Jack Van Berg, Todd Pletcher and Dallas Stewart. She gleaned the knowledge and professionalism from each to create an operation that can properly evaluate and develop young horses into athletes. Working in such well-connected and successful stables helped Becky develop a keen eye for how top horses train and move. The top stables got there with teamwork and that will be a cornerstone of Maker Racing, as well.
