9/20/2003 - Trainer Becky Maker Receives 2003 Rising Star Award From Arlington Park

In an event held on Thursday evening that also honored owner Russell L. Reineman with a 'Lifetime Achievement Award', Estrorace trainer Becky Maker was honored with Arlington's "2003 Rising Star Award"! She is so deserving of this honor as Becky is one of the most professional, conscientious, and hardworking gals around the ovals. Estrorace is proud to be associated with her and we look forward to the day that our Lady's Room returns to her shedrow. Congratulations Becky!

Also honored Thursday evening with Arlington's "2003 Rising Star Award" was trainer Rebecca Maker, who has saddled 12 winners, 10 runner-ups, and nine third-place finishers from 64 starters so far this season. "I would just like to thank all my owners for their support," said Maker when accepting.

Previous "Rising Star Award" winners were jockey Robby Albarado in 1996, trainer Chris Block in 1997, jockey Zoe Cadman in 2000, trainer Jackie Wright in 2001, whose career was tragically cut short by illness soon after, and jockey Elvis Trujillo last year.
