COMMON QUESTIONSThank you for taking a look at my most commonly asked questions page. I felt it was necessary to make available basic answers to the questions so many of you ask. Whether you are trying to break into the business or already own race horses, I felt this may help fill in some information on how I run my racing stable. A: The best way would be to contact me either in person, phone or email me and explain to me what you are wanting to spend and what kind of horse you would like to buy. From there, I can discuss with you the options that may best suit you.
A: Yes, I train for a few clients that look for people interested in investing into partnerships with owning race horses. Here are some links of some of my current clients that may interest you (selected examples, arranged alphabetically):
A: Yes, I attend these sales throughout the year. I have purchased horses for my owners at both yearling and 2yr old in training sales.
A: Your horse should already have a decent foundation of galloping and be ready to start their workout program. You may contact me by phone or email and I will be glad to discuss this with you as all cases are different.
A: I have no preference. I have had success training every kind of horse from sprinters on the dirt to long distance races on the turf. I train each horse accordingly to their needs.
A: I treat all horses as individuals. I like to let them tell me physically and mentally with their training when they're are close to running at their best potential.
A: My charge is $80 per day.
A: Highest quality care, with grooming, bedding, feed, hay, vitamins and training of their horse.
A: There is blacksmith, dentist, chiropractic, or any other special treatments, supplements, or medications to help that individual horse's needs. Any special treatments will be discussed with you prior to be agreed upon. These expenses will come to you in a detailed invoice from Rebecca Maker Racing Stable. Blacksmith care is essential however and you can expect it to cost approximately $140 per month. Veterinary work will be billed to you separately and can cost at on average $400 - $500 per month. Some horses needing special medical attention may cost more, so cost will vary.
A: 12% win (2% of which goes to the stable employees) 10% 2nd. 10% 3rd. Purses over $125,000, 12% win 10% 2nd through 5th place.

A: Payment due upon receiving invoice.
A: You may phone me best after training hours (which is approximately 10 a.m.), 7 days a week. I would be glad to discuss your horse's progress. I will be phoning you concerning up coming events such as important workouts or any races that would be considered for your horse. I also can communicate to you by email.
A: Yes, phone me and I would be glad to arrange the time and day.
A: I prefer using jockeys that have the confidence in me and our horse. I value a jockey that will listen and respect any instructions that I may have that is in our best interest with our horse.
A: We have the best veterinarians on call at all times.
A: If your horse was leave my barn under temporary circumstances, I would be in close contact concerning any therapy or treatments used for your horse. I would assure that when the horse shall return into my barn, they would resume there training and racing schedule to their best capabilities with minimum time lost.
A: No, once your horse leaves my barn even under temporary circumstances, the day rate stops at that time. Farms and clinics day rates will start and vary in prices usually expect rates less then racetrack cost. You will be billed by them separately.
